How Hard is it to have a Solar or Wind Powered House?

I’m talking about how much its going to run to not have to pay an electric bill ever again. Whats cheaper? Whats spendyer?

A totally off grid system would cost you a lot more then you would get back out of it in your life. Off grid systems are just for people who really needs them and are very wasteful. To produce enough power to get you through a week of rainy days you would have to have a system many times larger then you would require if you were grid tied.

A grid tie only system is the most profitable and green system. Any time the sun is up it will be pushing power back into the public utility which will be forceing anyone on the grid to use green power. And being it does not have to charge up a week or two worth of battery power more goes into the grid. So for best case get a solar backup system that can handle 24 hours of power usage with a grid tie inverter so it can be back feeding the grid while you are gone to work during the day time and not using power.

As far as how hard is it to have a solar or wind power home? Easy as calling a solar or wind power dealer. Write a check and in about a month you will be solar powered. If they have a crew that is not doing much you could have it installed the same day and be solar powered the next morning.

And to never pay an electric bill ever again it depends on your power usage. Could be $10,000 or $100,000. Keep in mind that if your electric bill is 100 dollars a month that is 36,000 over 30 years. Or well over 100,000 dollars if you add in inflation, taxes and fees that you will pay from renting from the public utility. Then you don’t own nothing for all that money you paid them. You can’t sell something you rented.

Here is a price list of home solar power systems in kit form and a link to show you how to size your system.
