How do I access the lid switch on my washer?
It looks almost exactly like this one pictured.

If I remove the 2 screws, I don’t know what’s to prevent the switch assembly from falling into the housing. Do I need to remove a panel to get it out, if so, how?

The top does come up on the old Whirlpool/Kenmore belt drives but for the last 10 years or more you take the screws out of the console flip it up, take out the clips and remove the whole outer white cabinet.
So it depends on the brand and model.
